GRANDPA SMURF

Back in the village after a five hundred-year leave, Grandpa Smurf is the oldest of all Smurfs. He has not taken Papa’s leading role but his energy and enthusiasm are impressive. Besides wearing a bright yellow cap and pants, Grandpa always wears pince-nez glasses. He’s an avid storyteller and loves to show off some of the souvenirs he has collected during his travels.

JOHAN AND PEEWIT

Johan and Peewit (pronounced Pee-wee) are two human friends of the Smurfs. They live (in the Middle Ages) in the King’s castle and met the Smurfs for the first time on their quest for the magic flute: the six Smurf flute. Johan is a page boy, rides a horse and protects the poor and the oppressed. Peewit is a boastful and cheating midget, he rides around on his goat Biquette. Packed with shortcomings but nevertheless nice, he also loves music and sings totally out of tune.

Living in a dilapidated hovel on the edge of the forest, Gargamel the horrible sorcerer is evil, cunning and two-faced wizard. He hates the Smurfs and is constantly in pursuit of them but the Smurfs always outwit him and manage to escape. After each setback Gargamel swears he shall be revenged.

Bigmouth is a nice but simple-minded kind of ogre who has a ferocious appetite, nobody knows where he comes from. He thinks only of eating…. anything. This was the cause of many problems for the Smurfs as the evil Gargamel made Bigmouth believe that the tastiest of delicacies was Smurf soup
