I can cream of chicken soup
1/2 can of water
10 oz bag of frozen peas and carrots
1 pk refrigerated biscuits
Place chicken in crock pot
Add soup and water
Salt & pepper to taste.
Cook on low 4 hours
Add frozen veggies for last 45 min -- turn cooker to high.
Bake biscuits as directed.
Split biscuits in half, top with hot chicken, veggies, & gravy.
Also good over mashed potatoes.

When I was in high school my Mom had a pressure cooker blow up. She happened to be cooking beets and the red water / juice shot straight up making the white ceiling a huge mess, and it got the counter and floor !! Being the only daughter guess who got to clean it up? LOL
We never knew why it went kaboom that night. Mom had used it many times before and after recovering from the blow up used it many times after.
Oh, oldest brother got to paint the ceiling.

I am going to try this one this coming Friday....my buddy and I take turns once a month trying to poison one another. This sounds like it will surely give him the need to nap at least lol.

I had never done soup in the crock pot cause I figured top of the stove was good. I made pea soup in my crock pot yesterday for the first time. It was so much easier, no stirring it for hours. Just start it up and walk away.
1 lb. split peas
2 qts chicken broth
1 c. chopped up leftover ham
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. diced carrots
1/2 c. diced red pepper
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. Rosemary
salt and pepper to taste
Put everything in crock pot. Stir well. Cook on high 4 to 5 hours, til peas are soft. Stir well and serve with some warm whole grain bread. Yummmm!!!
I put in a bit more carrots then called for, my family likes them.

. . . and there is not a single "can of" in the recipe.

See, yeah, I'd put in extra carrots instead of the onion-onion is horrible.

Onions are great. I usually put a really big white onion in my chili. The onion itself cooks out real sweet.

Baked onions are the only slimy food I enjoy.
Onions have a higher sugar content than apples which is why they brown so easily.
