Good new from DB
I spoke with a very perky DB today who is happy to report he is up and about after the operation. They have monitored him during recovery and state they believe they were seccessful in getting it all and expect a full recovery. He could be home as early as tomorrow.
YAAAA DB!

So, does that mean he's off his rocker?

About a week ago Teddy confessed that she just could not stay away from her friends in the hospital. She was back in with infections in the other leg, but she only wanted to check up that they were doing things right and was out in a couple days. I keep trying to convince her that she can just stay at home and we'll call from Pixies to see if they are on their toes or that I would even go and 'inspect' the nurses myself, just for her.

More Than Enough
I would like to end this thread while everyone is on an up note for a quick minute. DB is back with us and the modification is working fine, TeddyBear's upgrade is getting the voltage regular fine tuned and No.1 son is smiling at being on the mend.
I know after seeing the car, a dawning and pause has permanently adjusted his prospective of many things. The way 'experience' registers and changes the value of already known 'facts' is not logical but a very human thing. I have been proud of the job he does and taking some comfort after he added the dog. Seeing a clean cop really doing a hard job, by the book, does make a parent proud, but knowing there is an element of danger causes reserve. In the back of my mind I felt the odds had improved with having this special tool of protection. Then the fact of an auto accident, which all of us are exposed to, could come so close to killing him caused me pause. This happened while on duty but truly was not related to the job he does, away from the additional hours on the road.
After getting WAY to close to the edge exactly 4 weeks ago yesterday, it is hard to believe that much time has passed and that everyone on this thread is in such a better state. These are brutal reminders of how fragile and susceptible we are but also how resilient we can be with the understanding and application of a little science.
He has read a printout of this thread and wants to thank everybody for the good thoughts and prayers.

Latest on the home front. Saw my surgeon. 1 of 17 lymph nodes did show cancer and so I'll see my cancer doctor this coming week to determine future treatments. Good news is that caught early, like mine, chemo is very, very effective. Don't know that that is what he'll prescribe, but it's a good bet.
Any how, feeling good and healing pretty fast from the colon surgery.

Thanks, Lilith.
I'm very optimistic and feel very good. No worries. I trust my faith, my doctors, my family and the good wishes and prayers of so many people. Life has been very good to me and so I've no complaints. In fact, I suspect by the end of today my wife and I will become "GREAT-grandparents" for the first time. Our granddaughter went into the hosptial yesterday.
Love you, too, Lilith, and all our Pixie family!
