I have to agree with GermanSteve. There are quite a number of possibilities, but to eliminat a few, more info is needed eg: what is your operating system (Windows 95/98/2000/Me/XP etc), what software are you using to 'burn' (Nero EasyCD etc), what brand of burner is it, which EIDE cable is it on, how many Hard drives do you have etc. Hope this will help a little, so others can help you.
