Isonzo: Twelfth Battle Of Isonzo, aka, the Battle of Caporetto: Italian troops reorganize their forces at the Tagliamento River after losing 200,000 soldiers as POWs in the Caporetto Battle. German pressure on Tagliamento increases.
West of L. Garda Germans make strong attacks on Italian advanced posts. Cadorna informs Rome he will retreat behind river Piave and hints at separate peace. French (until November 5). Germans refuse any more divisions for Italy.
Arrival of French 64th and 65th Divisions begins west of Lake Garda (see 4th).

C.15 sinks
UC-65 (top 1917 sinker with 103 ships worth 112,859t) off Dartmouth, last of 6 Royal Navy submarine U-boat kills in 1917.
