I dunno old fart. My well is only 25 ft deep and I still can't get a prime on it. I'm having to run rural water to my horses. That's pretty sad. I just spent 75bucks on my pump last summer and never got a drop out of it withought hooking up my rural water to it. I have lived here since 1963 and i remember springs running out of the banks of the creeks and catching crawdads. it stays mostly bone dry now. So sad to see that happen. My dad owned 400 acres we had 4 ponds. Everything went dry this summer. My father passed away nov 11 2001. 2 months after the twintowers bombing. He caught psedomonas pneumona cutting and baling hay. He was a hard old fart that never went to the Dr. and at 65 he passed away. He was a farmer ,cattle trader, and an auctioner. And out of me and 3 brothers I was the only one who stayed with him. We raised and ground our own feed and hay. Me and my oldest brother made our clothes money for school by haulng hay for other people at a nickle a bale a day we had many bottle calves and he invented the first movable calf house on skids. We also had 15 holstein cows that we put in stanchions twice a day and raised 4 babies to a cow. Thats not counting about 20 bottle calves we fed and the many cows we fed silage to. Teaches made us go home because we stinked so badly of silage and couldnt afford a new pair of shoes to go to school in. when we started getting a mile from our house kids would hold their noses. Crap that meant money to us!. Mr. Goodknight gave us all the baby calves we could pull out of the muck and mud for free. thats how we raised us 4 kids. plus we had a garden and all of us kept it up but me n mom did all of the canning. today I still can. Yes mom made our own clothes until we made high school. Thats how farm kids were raised and Im DAMN proud of it!Not sure the critter thread is where this be belongs.. but what the hell it affects all us critters I have hardly ever seen a horny toad anymore and when I go frog giggin I see so many deformed frogs. The pesticisides we are using are deforming the wild life. All I ask is the farmers and ranchers to stay away from the wetlands with their pesticicides. That goes for the cropdusters too. Your market gain is killing and deforming our wildlife and you damn well know it!
