Easy enough to use the "Arkansas chrome" to fix a dune buggy, but duct tape actually played a "roll" in saving the lives of the Apollo 13 crew...check it out in the movie, gray tape & a plastic bag helped them jury-rig an adaptor for the CO2 scrubbers, similar to the methods used around here to replace broken car windows all the time...
