While I would never advise someone to end a relationship (unless it was abusive), I do agree the boyfriend needs a lesson in manners. Like Irish said, there is no wrong way to do it. What doesn't work for that person, might be perfect for someone else. If he'd rather complain than help, then he doesn't deserve it.
