You could say that we know each others idiosyncrasies;fairly well.
We know that each other won't waste money;and will often NOT
buy something;because we figure that the money can be better
spent on a household or family necessity!Therefore(altho not romantic);it is sometimes better;to give the other money and the
ORDER;to buy a certain thing for oneself.Example:My wife;knew that;I wanted an armband tatoo!She also knew that;I could not
condone;the cost of one.I have;one;on each forearm;that are about 25yrs.old.She went to the tatoo parler;made an appt. for
me and went with me to have it custom designed.She gave me; the money;with the express condition;that the money;could only
be spent there.It is beautiful and something that I wouldn't spend
the money for.Perhaps;a gift;with the same idea;would be appropriate;for your husband.I know that;a truely caring person;
will not spend money;that could be otherwise used.Buying something;just for the sake;of getting something;is also wasteful!

P.S.The tatoo;is a chain around my upper arm.The chain links;are
outlined;in a dark color and the links;are filled in;with Green!
