just recently had the timing belt break on my 97 Voyager minivan, it just died on the wife one afternoon on her way home...even with the tow (fortunately it was close to home) I was able to get it replaced by my local mechanic (who also happens to be a classmate from high school) for about $200, so I suggest that you shop around for a better price from a reliable shop, & do it at the recommended milage...timing belts are the great mystery item, ya never know when they'll go...
