I love the analogy but I did find one flaw...

At most stores the management stocks the shelves and decides what to try out and what not to keep in stock.

At the store I've been going to for over four years now, management simply watches over the stock (which just sort of appears, mayhaps placed there by the Keebler Elves) on the shelves and if a product is really bad, only then is it removed.

At least so says Aqua, self proclaimed King of Analogies.
