What is the difference between an orgasm and cumming?

This is a question that my girlfriend has put to me to ask you all here in pixies. I think it falls into the-question-for-the-ages category.

I know having an orgasm and cumming for guys is the same thing. Well being a guy myself I can only go on what I know as far as that is concerned. But for women it tends to be a whole different ball game and that is why I am asking.

It is a conundrem at best and one that would definately start a good debate.

So feel free to post what you know about this.

No, I've cum without having an orgasm... did it a few days ago actually... it tends to happen when you're concentrating too much on someone and there's a lot of stimulation at the same time. Plus, it's made worse when you have a female that just "lays there" and expects you to do everyone.

So I say that most of the time "cumming" and "orgasm" are the same thing... but they can be different for a guy.

I don't know in what context you are using "cumming" and "orgasm." If by cumming, you mean ejaculation, then they are not the same thing for a guy. Ejaculation is the physical act of releasing sperm, while orgasm is a whole nother ball game. It just so happens that the two normally coincide, so most people assume they are the same thing.

For women, obviously the same dichotomy exists between ejaculation and orgasm.

A man can have an orgasm with out cumming so they are not the same. With practice any man can do this. See the web site, tantricsex.org

I'm with the others . . . men can cum but not orgasm. For me, I say cum/orgasm interchangably. I guess I can have more "fluids" before I actually cum . . . or is that orgasm?

Ow, my head hurts now.

I'm with Steph on this one, I use the two to mean the same thing....cum is just a colloquial word for orgasm.

I can experience the feelings and euphoria of climax/orgasm without the physical release associated with ejaculation/cumming, but tend to use the terms interchangably because it's not something I do regularly enough to distinguish.

I think cumming and orgasm are totally different. i can make myself orgasm. But cumming...that takes a little more work, and is usually ALOT messier. :hot:

Question:

For those of you (particularly the women) for whom cumming and orgasm are totally different things....when you're in a sexual situation with your partner and he brings you to orgasm (as opposed to making you 'cum') what do you tell him?

Because I'd just say 'I'm cumming! I'm cumming!' and I can't imagine saying 'I'm having an orgasm! I'm having an orgasm!'

I am of the fallenAngel persuasion on this subject. Orgasms are from intensive nerve stimulation and can be quite independent from ejaclating.

"My climax is pending...and I intend to ejaculate!"

LOL... While I laugh I am going to try to answer this the best I can...

My cumming... I have a strong release of fluids and I am very stimulated I am kinda tingly all over, and if someone continues to stimulate it can lead to the below...

My orgasims... there are no words to be said, I can hardly breathe and my body is spasaming all over. For me it usually happens after cumming several times in a row, and there is just no fluid left to let go, so my whole body starts shaking and convolsing. This is when most people acuse me of talking to god and prayor... LOL  :spank:
