what's your pleasure, 1st or 3rd?
this may belong in the feedback forum, but i'm not sure how often those threads get read.
i love writing and reading erotic stories and i was curios about the rest of you who do, too. i'm not asking what kind of story. i know there are lots of different tastes and turn ons out there. although if you want to tell us your favorite categories, please do. i'd like to hear about them and it'll give the writers some good ideas, i'm sure. what i'm wondering is: do you prefer stories written in the first person? does it make you feel as if you are really there, experienceing it? or do you prefer the stories written in the third person? something like watching a movie, or watching the characters from a voyers point of view? please share your thoughts. i think i like the first person perspective better, to read and write, but i enjoy them all (especially the ones involving sex. lol. :D ) |
1st person. Third person turns me off.
|
I like ones that feature me as the third person. :D
Ok, so maybe I'm stretching the limits of credibility here. First or third person written stories are both exciting to me. I enjoy a well written, sexy situation... no matter who's telling it to me. :hot: |
I either hear from the first person or it hops over to the third person. What kind of kinky thing is the second person doing? I never hear from the second person.:(
I want a group sex story with a second person.:D |

LMAO can you ever be serious? |
I was once. :)
It was no fun.:( |
I like first person so I can imagine myself there..... and get all hot.
|
First person, like being writer and director.
|
Depends on the story and how the author goes about it.
Though i s'pose if i had to choose...i'd say first person |
I'm not sure I've written anything in the 1st person. I'll have to think about this.

I don't mind either, 1st or 3rd, however, I have noticed that a HUGE amount of people who write in 1st mess up tenses a lot. Very rarely are books written in 1st person. When it comes to tenses, I usually write in past, using 3rd person.
There's nothing worse in my mind, than wretched grammar and messed up tenses and POV in a story. I have started reading stories that have a great plot, and stopped reading them when 1 paragraph is in present tense, 1st person, and the next is in past tense, 1st person, and the following one is in present tense, 3rd person. I think that for the average joe who decides to write a story, it's the most common of errors, and the least likely to be caught when you're writing. It's a good idea to have a proof reader, or even 2 or 3, who can read through it for you, and mark down any errors you have, then send it back to fix before posting. Sure, this isn't a publisher's haven, but when writing, it's a good idea to still follow good grammar and keeping it in 1 tense, and 1 POV. |
I knew you'd get here gilly. :) That's why I made all my stories PERFECT. :D
lol |

are you trying to tell me something, Gilly? lol |
-chuckles- Not telling anyone anything, as I haven't actually read any of the stories posted here.
I used to read some at Lit, but out grew that phase. I found that to be true in about 95% of the stories I tried to read however. Alot of my experience comes from when I was writing and reading fanfiction, though. Let's put it this way: For every good story you find (including good grammar and what not), you'll find at least 20 that have huge avoidable mistakes. Also, I learned early on, no matter how good and perfect you think your own story is, others WILL find mistakes, and WILL point them out to you. |

that is true and nothing turns me off more than reading a story and editing it at the same time. worse than that is when the story contradicts itself. Quote:
i would love any constructive critisism on anything i write for the erotic stories. as long as it's helpful, it can't be bad. |
