Disavowel(?)

I don't even know if that's a word.This is not a "political"
statement but this has been bugging me,for days. One of the
Presidential candidates is a vetern. In not ALL,but in some speeches,he has(erroniously)claimed,to represent ALL veterns.
I am a 10% disabled vetern & just want to say that he doesn't
represent me or many veterns, that I know.I'm not publicly,
supporting anyone, but I just wanted to say that!Thank You! Irish

jennaflower 01-24-2004 09:58 AM

Irish...

He certainly isn't representing this Veteran either... and I would hope to think that MOST veterans see through his stunt... I would think that a democratic president is the last thing our military needs...

opppps... Did I just make that a political statement... YIKES... I feel a pouncing coming on.... hmmmm.... I NEED A POUNCING. ROFL ;)

LixyChick 01-24-2004 10:29 AM

It's all typical of any political race! They use their one and only characterisitc that they think might cut to the heart of the masses (ingratiate themselves into your life) and seperate them from the incumbent....and somehow make them seem like the better candidate! In this case GWB is NOT a military man.....so they'll use that against him if/when they can!

Politicians would do just about anything to get elected! The prize for them isn't to do all the good things they talked about in their speaches.....but to collect that all mighty dollar that is guaranteed them when their reign is over!

Yikes! That sounds a might jaded...don't it? OK....there may be a few political figures who have actually followed through with their campaign promises....but I'm hard pressed to name any at the moment!

Catch22 01-24-2004 10:45 AM

You can have our politicians if you want.

Cobalt 01-24-2004 11:55 AM

You pretty much sumed up my opinion of anyone who runs for office. They are not doing it for the people like they say when they are running, but for there own pocket.

None of it is being done for the reason it was intended when it was started way back in the begining. That in my opinion is the problem with our so called government today. They are not there for the people anymore, but themselves.

LixyChick 01-24-2004 01:41 PM

P.S. ((((Irish)))))

I am such a pain in the ass about my own spelling....(please don't notice I spelled "speech" wrong and didn't realize it till now and time is up for editing...not only in this thread....but I digress.....lol!)......I thought I'd help you ease your wonder!

Disavow=To refuse to acknowledge
Erroneously=Mistakenly

OK.....ok.......I did preface this with....."I'm such a pain in the ass"!!!!! Just thought I'd help is all.....*runs from thread*

Good question, Nikki. Haven't found it if there is.

Oldfart 01-25-2004 07:59 AM

Listen to Catch22.

We have some of the best politicians money can buy.

Irish 01-25-2004 09:22 AM

I don't know either,Nikki. There are Pro & Con websites on just
about everything.Perhaps,someone,who is more familiar,with
websites can help you.I am almost "computer illiterate" but some
of the members, know ALL about websites.Sorry! Irish
P.S.The person.that I was referring to is a Democrat.Perhaps there is a Democratic website?My wife & I,are registered independants,so No help there!

Catch22 01-25-2004 10:50 AM

This appears to be Deans homepage.

Who are the others running?

Lilith 01-25-2004 10:55 AM

Kerry appears to be the Dem front runner, Catch22.

Catch22 01-25-2004 11:04 AM

What is his first name?

Catch22 01-25-2004 11:09 AM

John Kerry

Lilith 01-25-2004 11:10 AM

John, I think.

I suggest that people also search by issues, the ones that are important to you. Then you may be able to see who the groups that represent your feelings, are backing.
