Much ADU about everything

Did you guys see that 14 year old that was the first draft choice by the DC United in the MLS???? Can you imagine...14!

What do you think about kids in professional sports?

Wonder if he has to get a state authorized work permit? :)

What about Michelle Wie???

I don't believe that children should be allowed to enter the professional arena until they have graduated high school at least. I think by doing so, they are losing some of the important parts of childhood. I can't help but wonder, when these children come along, how much pushing has been involved on the side of their parents. Children should be allowed to be children for as long as possible.... adulthood comes fast enough...

If M Caulkin was allowed to have a baby at his young age, then I see no reason as to why this can't go on (even though it's not trying to be stopped).

If you are referring to Macaulay Culkin from the Home Alone movies...he has no children (that I could find info on) and in fact separated from his wife who wanted children when he did not.

When prodigies like Freddy Adu and Michelle Wie (golf) come along, the "rules" just don't apply. They should be allowed to grow as much as their maturity will allow. That, I guess, is the key.

I think that the Womens Tennis Association has the right policy.

The amount of tournaments for the youngsters are limited so they dont get "burnt out" at an early age.

To be a well rounded person you need all kinds of different infuences and experiences. To have only one focus all through your childhood is not a good thing for your later life in my opinion

How about toddlers in movies or on TV. Is that not the same thing, exploitation of children.

Yeah, Culkin doesn't have a kid.

If a teen has the drive to compete professionally, I don't think anyone should stop them. Tiger Woods is doing fine. A lot of the Asian golfers do exceptionally well at a young age, too.

Swiming and surfing they are teens mostly.
