Got this this morning in an email and thought you worker bees would appreciate it ...

Do you keep falling asleep in meetings and seminars?

Here's a way to change all that.

1. Before your next meeting, seminar, or conference call, prepare yourself by drawing a square. I find that 5"x 5" is a good size. Divide the card into columns - five across and five down. That will give you 25 one-inch blocks.

2. Write one of the following words/phrases in each block:

* synergy
* strategic fit
* core competencies
* best practice
* bottom line
* revisit
* take that off-line
* 24/7
* out of the loop
* benchmark
* value-added
* proactive
* win-win
* think outside the box
* fast track * result-driven
* empower (or empowerment)
* knowledge base
* at the end of the day
* touch base
* mind set
* client focus(ed)
* paradigm
* game plan
* leverage

3. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases spoken by the speaker.

4. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout.... "BULLSHIT!"

What a great idea.Those words or phrases are all part of corporate double speak.Image I get is the suite and tie with a bad toupee driving his Beemer.

I'm printing a "Bullshit" card now ... I've got a meeting this afternoon.

Wait, I'm leading the meeting. Hmmm ... think I should pass them out to my employees? lol

OMG!!!!!! This is sooooooooo perfect db! I'll let you know how it goes........I got a big meeting in the morning and it's the "Tuesday.....let me throw some ideas at you and tell me what you think"......meeting! This will go over like a fart in church!

Oh.....and one more thing.........

Anyone hiring? I might be out of a job.......but I'll have a piss and a half on the way out the door!

If they fired you'd Lixy they'd be the worse for it. Besides, share the idea. Soon, every meeting could be a source of fun! :D

Actually db......I DID share the idea......and I even made up "Bullshit" grids and filled them in with all the words (yada, yada, yada) I KNEW would be mentioned...and are mentioned at each and every stinkin, boring meeting we ever have! Each were a little different for gaming sake!

This one girl I share a similar humor with could hardly contain herself when she got "Bullshit"......but she just stood and smiled at me and mouthed the word and had to excuse herself.......which made me nearly pee my pants!

This is now going to be a weekly ritual.........and the bosses know nothing of it! I love this idea.......I swear it's a saving grace from rhetoric!
