Show me your Ride

I know there are plenty of bikers here so I thought with my new bike and all why don't we share pics of what we ride. Here's one of mine though since it was with a phone it's not the best in the world. I'll post a better one later on.

Due to my camera taking to large a file size I have to stick with cell phone photos.

Lord Snow,

I am past my motorcycle days, but that is a fine looking set of wheels! :thumb:

themi01 08-20-2009 06:51 PM

I echo jseals..... but how about fine 4 wheel rides ?

Lord Snow 08-20-2009 07:46 PM

My car isn't noteworthy. It's a 91 Lebaron convertible. What I love about the paint job on my bike is it's a factory limited. They only produced so many Victory Vegas 8 Balls like that. Still wish I could have gotten the Honda VTX1800t though. Unfortunately, those are no longer made.

Nice bike!

My bike ~ Looking dusty and in need of some TLC, been in the shed for 10+yrs

'88 Kawasaki GPZ750 A3

Lord Snow 08-20-2009 09:23 PM

Well.....clean it up, take it to a shop to have it checked out, fill it up, and go for a ride Fang.

Fangtasia 08-20-2009 09:58 PM

If only it was that easy *L*

I'm debating wether to sell it or keep it, and have been debating for a few years now *L* I just am having trouble letting it go! I've had it for 20yrs, i'm really attached to it *LOL*

Bikes are only a problem when you become 'unattached' to them, Fangas. ;)

Here's one you can show themi01 :D

Oldfart 08-21-2009 01:12 AM

That's a hexacycle, not a bicycle.

dicksbro 08-21-2009 03:47 AM

Yep, he should have shown a side view so you could only see two wheels. :spin: :D

Lord Snow 08-21-2009 08:49 PM

I still say clean it up and take it to a shop. If for no other reason than to find out how much it would cost to get it into working order. I realize it's not my business, but I'm going to be nosey and ask.......why did you quit riding? I didn't ride last year and this year until recently because the bike I was riding was to small for me. Short distances were fine, but doing the long "let's go for a ride for the day" thing was to hard on my knees.

Fangtasia 08-22-2009 12:01 AM

My reasons are my own, i didnt quit riding, i was forced at the time to put my bike off the road :) I can't see the bike being put into the shop anytime soon, to get it back on the road, again for reasons.

As i stated...if only it was that easy :)

Oldfart 08-22-2009 12:13 AM

The bike is also a part of the wilder early years and a hook into the remembered fun?

Waiting til the kids are grown up before you risk the 21st century highway?

Money?

Bilbo?

All the above?

Lord Snow 08-22-2009 09:01 PM

Just thought I'd ask. I know about life getting complicated and certain things having to be put off because of them. I kind of figured that since you're so unwilling to get rid of it (perfectly understandable), you'd want to take steps to get back on it.

Fangtasia 08-22-2009 09:34 PM

If i could get it back on the road, as one motorcyclist to another, do you think i wouldn't just for the sake of it?? I mean honestly *L*

Its off the road for certain reasons, its not off the road purely because i cant be bothered getting it looked at. Its sat in the shed for this long whats a few more years is part of my reasoning for not wanting to get rid of it, who knows what the future may hold, I dont want to get rid of it then find a week later the reasons its off the road go away and its possible for me to get it ready and back on *LOL*

Anyway the reasons its not on or off the road are irrelevant. I just wanted to share my ride :)

Lord Snow 08-22-2009 10:08 PM

Glad you did.

Just reviving this thread in answer to a question in another one.

Great bikes. I like that Victory. Really like the paint.

I went to one of the test ride days at a local Victory dealer and rode the Kingpin and a Cross Country.

I liked em. The only complaint I had was the clunky transmissions.

But, if I had 20 grand, I'd take that Cross Country home.

Maleslut1186 07-28-2010 01:58 PM

My favorite ride

It gets infinite miles per gallon !!

Lord Snow 07-28-2010 04:35 PM

Only until the winds die out. LOL.

I actually didn't test ride my Victory. I tested the King Pin as well. Real smooth, great speed. The transmission responds best to a gentle touch which I just don't have. Especially running in my city where it's best to shift fast and hard to get out of the way. I didn't find out about the Cross Country, which is closer to what I was looking for, until after my purchase.

Oldfart 07-28-2010 05:46 PM

Let's see you sail that home from the pub on a busy Saturday night.

Irish 07-29-2010 11:46 AM

I was going to say something derogatory, like the manuals are only in Japanees(sp?)but I've been riding since I was 15(I'm 66 now)& I've learned that the only important thing is that "At least you're riding!" Irish

Aqua 07-29-2010 12:02 PM

Close, Irish... Japanese. I'm in the 'At least you're riding' camp. As long as someone is happy with the bike they ride, and keep it upright, it's all good. :)

Lord Snow 07-29-2010 09:45 PM

I haven't been riding nearly as long and already believe that. I have my preferences and will defend them, but I bow my head to those who defend theirs. Whether it's a crotch rocket, a brand new cruiser, Honda or Harley...it all boils down to we love to ride and that's all that matters.
