One last ride

I hate to say it but I guess this is it for me. It was such a nice day I just couldn't resist a ride with my daughter. So I hopped on the 'ol man bareback, rode a few minutes and guess what happened? Yep........ dislocated my shoulder AGAIN.
No more riding for me. :(

imaginewithme 11-28-2004 12:47 AM

I am sorry to hear that hon! Sure looks like a great picture tho!

Cheyanne 11-28-2004 01:03 AM

That is too bad!!! You are going to have to give that shoulder a rest and let it heal better before you do stuff woman!!!! :spank:

Is there some sort of a brace you could wear when you ride?

jseal 11-28-2004 06:11 AM

cowgirltease,

Tough shot! That must be quite uncomfortable. Hope you recover soon!

Belial 11-28-2004 06:50 AM

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear it.

*very warm and comfy but very gentle hugs to CGT*

Lilith 11-28-2004 08:22 AM

Ouch! ((((CGT)))) He's beautiful, if someone had to be your last, he's a good choice.

cowgirltease 11-28-2004 08:59 AM

Thanks guys. I hate gettin old. Cheyanne, I have a brace but I can't ride with it. My doctor is really gonna be pissed when I go back to see him the 10th. I was doing so good in physical therapy. I Had gotten almost all my strength back and he was fixin to send me back to work. I can't believe it came out again. I wasn't pulling alll that hard on the reins. I'm sure I'll have to have surgery again if it came out that easy.
That's my stud horse. He's 16 years old and still full of spit and vinegar. :)
I'm just thankful Darogle was there to get me to the hospital this time. Poor thing, I made him try to put my arm back in out in the pasture but it wasn't gonna go.

osuche 11-28-2004 11:05 AM

((((CGT))))) ~ damn, that sucks.

blkcat 11-28-2004 11:43 AM

sorry to hear about your pain, but it seems you will have to keep your bare back riding of the " ole man" to the bedroom,LOL :sex:

Cobalt 11-28-2004 11:48 AM

Damn, sorry to hear that CGT!

But you know what saddles are for and the shoulders by the saddle horn, and yes I know it is not the same as bare back. Will have to save the bareback riding for Darogle. :sex:

flutelady 11-28-2004 12:08 PM

(((((CGT)))))

I'm sorry to hear that your shoulder did that to you yet again. I hope you're feeling alright, not in pain. I agree, he's a beautiful horse... and if it has to be your last time, you chose well.

cowgirltease 11-28-2004 12:17 PM

Well I don't want it to be but ,obviously I can't ride the way I am now. :(

LOL You men.........always have sex on the brain. :p
It wouldn't have mattered if I would have had a saddle on. It was from a simple pull on the horses rein when I was going thru some turns with him.
As for Darogle........... I think he needs a full harness.

Sharni 11-28-2004 01:33 PM

Can you not get a horse trained to neck rein CGT???

They are only ridden one handed...just use the arm thats got the good shoulder

dicksbro 11-28-2004 05:11 PM

CGT, it is a beautiful picture. I'm very sorry that you hurt your shoulder. Please take care. ;)

jay-t 11-28-2004 06:04 PM

wyndhy 11-28-2004 08:46 PM

:( (((CGT))) that sucks! hope you're not in too much pain.

rabbit 11-28-2004 10:05 PM

CGT, don't give up the horse. Just get your shoulder right. Longe him in the meantime to keep him from getting too sour.

Get well soon cowgirl!

BTW, your mount is really handsome! (and, no, I ain't talking about darogle!)

;) :p

You're right Sharni. PLEASURE horses are trained to neck rein but, he was a RACE HORSE. They aren't trained that way. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks. But I'll dang sure give it a try.

No thankfully my arm didn't end up behind me this time. It wasn't nearly as painful. Are you trying to tell me to cowgirl up and quit whining? LOL

rockintime 11-29-2004 12:55 AM

CGT...phewwwww! Saw the thread title and was afraid you'd sworn off sex...I was wondering WHAT the world was coming to! Now that I see the the "last ride" you were referring to was horses rather than sex, I'm SO-O-O-O-O relieved!

But, I am sorry to hear about your pain and I'm certain it's a real sadness to no longer be riding horses.

I realise he hasn't been trained that way...other than retraining him....i just thought maybe you could get one that is.....that way you dont have to give up riding completely

***Race horses here that are either too slow or have other problems are constanly sold and retrained as pleasure horses

Very few pleasure horses here are trained to neck rein...most are English style trained...

Western horses, Cattle workers and such are the ones mainly trained that way

Anyway...was just a thought:)

nikki1979 11-29-2004 04:06 AM

It would be a COLD day in HELL when I swear off sex darlin. LOL
Thanks for your concern honey. Yeah I hadn't been on him for a few years and now when I can't ride I think "what the hell had I been doing?" Why WASN'T I riding?

texascubfan 11-30-2004 02:19 PM

boy do i feel your pain, CGT...literally and figuratively. i couldn't ride for about a year after my accident. i'm really sorry to hear about it, but hopefully you will make a full recovery and be backing him again soon. a friendly piece of advice - when the doc says it'll take "X" amount of time to get right, trust him. i did the same thing, only mine was playing ball. stupid me went out as soon as i "felt good enough" and tried to play again. again, i'm pulling for ya, keep your chin up! :x:

cowgirltease 11-30-2004 02:24 PM

Yeah I'm hard headed. LOL

cowgirltease 11-30-2004 09:53 PM

Well I'll be damned if I didn't go and dislocate my shoulder again just now. Thank god the doctor showed my daughter how to put it back in. This ain't lookin too good for me. I guess I better go get it fixed.
