Living out in the country I've hit just about every thing but a horse! And I don't want to try that one!
Living in a city dosen't make you immune Independence, Mo.has an annual deer drive from downtown. |
OMG WI...ya made me snort my coffee man...still laughing!
PF ~ See if you had've been on the correct side of the road it woulda missed ya!! *L* Now lets see. Ford XC - I cleaned up a 2 roos, they did not get the chance to ever do it again. Taken out many rabbit/hares. Cleaned up a few birds *L* Holden Commodore - Got a roo, and it too was not going anywhere. Many a bunny. A few birds. Damn nearly cleaned up the biggest deer i have ever seen in my life, way way too close!! Nissan Tiida - Close calls with too many roos to count, some far far too close. a few beardies, a turtle and some birds. Thankfully havent hit any animal with it (thats done any car damage), and hopefully it stays that way. Took out about 6 corellas from a flock on the motorbike, almost took out a cow on the bike. Few close calls with roos. I'm afraid roos are part of my daily drive, my luck will prolly run out one day, hopefully one day many many many years away!! |

My body man thinks the door can be popped/pounded out with no problem. The mirror is on order and hopefully will be here buy the end of the week, so the car was really no big deal. It was the startle of the moment that shook me the most. The location is still the most surprising part of the incident. It would be like hitting a roo at Brunswick and Ann St. in downtown Brisbane. |
Don't feel bad. When I hit the deer shook me a bit, but as soon as I realized I was just fine...I got pissed. Called my cousin to bring the truck and dammit all if I couldn't use the deer. I ruptured the bowels, making the meat no good. Got the car mostly fixed and I'm not really worried about what hasn't been. I never really liked the thing to begin with.

Hey! |
So, PF, did the police eventually cite the deer for the hit-and-run?

We were eating dinner one night when we heard all kinds of sirens racing down the road. There had been an accident in which a car had struck...a wallaby. In Connecticut. When we saw it on the news, they interviewed the driver of the car who said "My daughter got out and looked at what we had hit and told me it was a kangaroo. I told her 'I can't call the police and tell them I ran over a kangaroo!!! They'll think I'm drunk!'" Sadly, Willie was the pet of a man in the neighboring town. Apparently he was well known there because they used to go to town hall together. lol |
A Connecticut wallaby in the local Court?
|
Yes, Bob.
 |
PF, so glad you didn't get hurt!!
Hit a few squirrels, one racoon who waddled off into the woods, and one deer who did a full flip after impact and ran off. She too left alot of hair in my grill. |
