Oh I don't know...it was so hot at my college graduation that I wore a bathing suit and nice sandles for the ceremony (heels on grass? No way. I'd dig in and fall on my face half way to the podium). Of course I threw on a sundress for pictures once they let us open those monstrously heavy gowns for pictures (well, some of the pictures).
I was very serious about my graduation, don't get me wrong. It was a big deal in my life at the time. But I think that respect is in the attitude, regardless of what you wear. If they really were nice flip flops, it's a style thing, not a respect thing. If that makes any sense. |
I failed to mention the high school graduation i referred to was indoors. And most of them were your typical foam bottoms with just plain straps for the "thong". Nothing cute or nice about them... just plain ole' flip flops.

I personally would never have been able to attend an event like that wearing flip flops but like teddy said, it must have been a freaking slow news day!
My bigger concern are men I've seen this summer wearing what I consider female flip flops. :D The biggest concern? Socks with sandals! :spank: http://www.sandalandsoxer.co.uk/home.htm |

I agree whole heartedly. I thought it was goofy in H.S. and like it even less now. I used to have a female co-worker that would wear Birkenstocks with socks and a power suit. She would wear skirts and wear them too. It was against my companies dress code and she eventually was fired over it. Sounds extreme, but worked at the headquarters for an extremely fashion forward retailer. |
