Ahahaha, he's laughing about it, too:

"Let's just me just say this: Republicans aren't the only people who want four more years here," he told CNN's Larry King by telephone on Friday night.

Lilith,

Mr. Clinton has already cancelled a two-day campaign trip across New York State.

A healthy ex-president actively campaigning across the nation and personally persuading voters to vote for a candidate is probably more effective than one winning card games in a hospital room in a city that is a Democratic slam dunk. I have to think that removing Mr. Clinton’s from the Democratic arsenal of weapons cannot help their cause. He was a very charismatic politician.

Still, there is plenty of time between now and November. We shall see

I wasn't a big Clinton fan, but I do wish him a a very speedy and full recovery. I had triple-bypass surgery and like him, no heart attack or stroke ... thank heavens.

He probably won't do much campaigning, though. I know it takes a couple of months at least to get back into a normal routine (and still had to go a bit easy for a while after that).

When I heard that Clinton was going to have a bypass done, my first thought was "Didn't the Republicans do that already?"

The thing about clinton that is very surprising is that he just did his annual stress test and nothing abnormal was indicated, a real wake-up call for people not too take anything for granted. He did have a cholesterol test done on his blood and found that his "bad" cholesterol was way too high. They gave him medication for it but he allegedly stopped taking it.

Hope he gets well soon.

Steph 09-05-2004 01:37 PM

Really? Why in the hell would he stop taking the medication?

Lilith 09-05-2004 01:49 PM

I heard him say on Larry King that he had been on cholesterol and blood pressure lowering meds but that by eating right, exercising, and watching his diet he had managed to lower them so significantly that he was able to stop taking the meds. He felt the risk for heart disease was not only due to poor diet but that there was a genetic correlation as well.

Oh! I see. I thought he just was a "typical guy" who thought he was invincible. He also has hearing aids and has had several other medical procedures since he left office. I thought he was just a chubby guy and needed to drop a few pounds but otherwise was the picture of health. I mean, look at his libido! :sex:

Gentlefolk,

Interesting article on the BBC. Integrates comments from Lilith, dicksbro, and me:

When that reporter told me he want to put his finger on the pulse of the people...I thought he meant something sexual :p

jseal 09-06-2004 01:21 PM

I THOUGHT that he gave more emphasis to you angle! No fair!

LixyChick 09-08-2004 05:08 AM

They say he's doing well after quadruple bypass surgery. Damn, when that man does something, he does it to extreme, eh? How could he look so good with 90% of his arteries clogged? Imagine how great he'll look after his recovery! I still admire that multi-tasker! Can talk politics on the phone while receiving a BJ? That's HOT!
