I’ve been watching Bonnies’ progression, Lil. How much more rain will it take to turn you town in a quicksand pit?
Not much. Used to live there. Unlike Lilith, I lived basically at the bottom of the hill, so I had to have 3' high flood walls around my house.
I can't stop watching the weather channel! It's all very stressful.
*glub*glub*glub* my patio has been under since about 8 am and I am on the middle of a hill. My mother lives near the coast directly in the path of Charly and is a nervous fucking wreck. I have to drive there this weekend through it because she is having surgery Monday. Fuck electricity and water, God help me if she and my grandmother run out of cigarettes:p
Good Luck All. Will pray for you all to be safe.
Bonnie was a wusssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Unfortunately I think Charley boy is gonna be a bit tougher.
Take a picture of the "walmart site" under water. :D
Get your oars out lady and hang on to your skirts. :D I'm In the middle of tornado alley. I think I'd rather have tornadoes than hurricanes anyday. Got you in my prayers Lil. PLEASE be careful if you're gonna try to drive in the stuff. I'm worried bout ya.
It's raining really bad here now.... BLAH I hate this crap! The gray rain when you can't see where you're driving. Today was beautiful out tho. The ONLY good thing about hurricanes, is the temperature drops a lot and you can stand going outside. Yep, Charley better not ruin our big car show this weekend!

Just a thought,that I do.We have a well & the toilets,will not fill the resevoir,
if you lose power!I always keep empty jugs, filled with water. As long as you can refill, the resevoir, the toilets can be flushed.I learned this, going thru storms, with a wife & two daughters.Men will piss outside, but MOST women won't Irish |
every thing is moved inside and just waiting for tomarrow afternoon
when we start our hurrican party in the neighborhood |
take care of yourselves everyone!!!
I've always lived in earthquake areas .... only experienced a couple of large ones and those have all been far enough away that it mainly makes for the equivalent of a good amusement park ride ... with a bit more adrenalin packed into the moment for the fact that no one set up safety specifically for that day and time. Now that I live in So. Cal on the coast, we have El Nino years that have been interesting, but for the most part don't cause anywhere near the damage as Hurricanes or tornadoes (or if they do, it's extended over a longer period of time). So far I just keep a 24 hour emergency kit close by and a prayer in my heart. :) |
I'm worried about McJim. He lives where my mom does and is in an evacuated area. If anyone hears from him please get him to post of PM me to let me know he's ok.
I'm still unsure of the "touchdown" point for Charley...but I'm worried for you Lil...and all our other Pixie peeps down your way! Please be safe everyone...and NO hanging on to palm trees! They are too bendy (word?...is now!)!
*hugs and good vibrations* |
I completely safe...no worries for my area it's the Tampa- Naples area that is gonna get slammed.
