I don't know if anyone remembers my thudding first entry into the chat rooms here...but I think I said something along the lines of "good lord, I've been here 5 minutes and no-one's asl'ed me....is it always like this and if so please please please can I stay?!?"

Can't stand being asl'ed. Although, since finding this lovely haven....I've discovered I don't mind so much. After all, if every time "another sodding loser" comes into the room they so conveniently identify themselves as such...it saves me the time of finding out I don't want to talk to them the hard way. ;)

A/S/L bugs me most because the asker is immediately setting

themself to reject anyone who does not fit their target group.

Rash people without the patience to find out through conversation

whether they like somebody enough to continue the conversation

are a waste of bandwidth.

A/S/L can also be a tool for the stalker/worse.

Just my opinion. . .

It annoys me becuase, as OF alluded to, it (usually) is an attempt to judge suitability for cybering based only on those three variables.

Well I normaly just say sorry those checks bounce in here.
It's one of my pet peves when people come in and ask ASL first thing. Dose it real matter if you are there to chat. Just start talking you should be able to figure out the sex of everyone if you pat aatention. and as for the other 2 do they realy matter.

Aqua your reason for A dosn't real matter in pixies chat room if they aren't 18 they don't belong in the room and will be kicked if theey are.
S shouldn't matter if you ask first about pm'in like it tells you when you enter the room.
and L what are the odds of finding someone that close in chat.

I never fall for that crap ................ besides .................. I'll be the one to ask the questions. (In a more mannerly fashion)

While I find it rude and crude from strangers entering a new place, maybe GingerV’s point of it being a quick qualifier of who’s at the door, is well taken. My first thought is that want-a-be-fucker needs a quick manners refresher, but I guess it’s the norm in most adult rooms on the web. I suppose it’s just one more way Pixies people are real humans to me.

Most visitors are greeted immediately and it should be seen that they are not on Canal Street in Amsterdam, picking “entertainment” from the window. When they persist, they DO give us something to play with ourselves.:D

I don’t like it, but I can turn it into something fun to deal with and something they’ll like less.;)

It's just rude! As if his/her time is entirely too important to waste on the likes of EVERYONE in the room, by having a decent conversation. It's the ole "bums rush". Why don't they just say...."Nevermind all the useless ramblings...do ya wanna fuck or what?....(which, BTW, has it's time and place...just not in chat....lol!)

I usually say, "You tell us first"....and then proceed to ask them a dozen more questions before they know what hit them! Believe it or not....I'm not as shy as I seem when I'm in the chat room!
