I'm with you on that Lil there should be as much attention paid to outlawing spyware as there is to spam.

A program I use to get rid of it is called "Spybot" that you can get free online - sorry I don't have the url to hand. Another is "Spywareblaster" and you can get this from:

it also has free updates to keep up with the spyware.

But even with that you can still get fucked. Every time I think it's gone, the bitch is back. It would be ok but I do a lot of banking and shopping online.

Either a particular website you go to or something you download is reinfecting your system Lil

I just spy botted my puter (2 weeks old) and got 150 spyware off it and am now innoculated against most

Though there are some that i know are on here...1 is preinstalled by Compaq....and the other is on a program i want to use...if i get rid of the spy the program refuses to work *L*

But i can live with 2.....neither are password grabbers or key loggers

Hotmail drops a lot of spys on the puter.

Porn sites are bad for spyware....also sites for desktop themes (screensavers, skins etc)

Cant say i've seen many appear after using Hotmail...but i just may be lucky

I use netscape with java off when surfing. A lot of them are java and made for ie.

I have been using AdAware for about a year, and cuts way down on my spam. I run it twice a week, and it is free...
