Thank goodness for you increased mobility. Now we hope that ol' cough will quit lingering and go away. Thoughts and prayers continue.
All week long we've been hearing about "Notre Dame" and not one word about the hunch-back. Did Quasimodo get out OK? Is he alright? Does he have a place to stay now? The only person you can name that lives there and nobody cares. What a bunch of self-centered creeps. :hair:

The spire may have come down, and the chapel roof collapsed, but the towers are still standing.
Went on a picnic with family and their in-laws and had a great time. No doubt, the prettiest day of the year so far! Food was good and the visit was nice. Good way to spend Easter Sunday after church. :)

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources give out blaze orange pencils in order to promote hunter safety.

There will be no repeat Stanley Cup.
The Washington Capitals managed to blow another 2-goal lead to lose the 7th game (of 7) in the second overtime last night; the final was 4-3. The Carolina Hurricanes go on to the next round of playoffs. |
Off to another weekend gaming convention. Parkland Game Days.
Have fun. No doubt you will, gaming conventions can be a blast and I hope this one will exceed expectations!.
Lot of games yesterday. Heroes' Welcome, San Juan, Unstable Unicorns, Dinosaur Island. Just one today: Mega Civilization.
Busy schedule, that's for sure.
Hey, ended up last in the Mega-Civ game of 10 people (Mega-Civ holds up to 18). But it was a lot of fun; always is.
Today, another round of lots of different games, not sure which ones until I get there. |
Fun is what it's for … have another fun day today!
Yeah, I got in a couple of scenarios fo Wings of Glory, and a game of Photosynthesis. Great weekend.
Does May have more conventions coming up?
Just Balticon, a s/f convention over memorial Day weekend.
Sounds like a winner. Enjoy!
This weekend will be a fun one here. Friday through Sunday our town will be hosting "Civil War Days" featuring talks, exhibits and battle re-enactments. Loud and exciting. Demonstrations of civil war battlefield medical care will be held to show how troops wounded in the field would be cared for. Kind of the 1860's version of the TV series MASH. Should be fun and educational.
Sounds like something I'l like to be at. Post pics!
We'll try to do that.
Another Cleveland kid bites the dust. :tear:
May he RIP. He was a terrific comedic actor!
He will be missed. |
Crap. Not unexpected, but still...crap.
Mowed our law yesterday and somehow, starting the mower, I've pulled something in my right shoulder. Hurts if I try to raise the arm. Hopefully that'll ease off today and things will return to normal. :(
Oh, crap. I wish I could say I didn't know what that feels like.
Take care of yourself, dude. |
Thanks. Still a bit painful, but seems to be easing off. Hope that trend continues. :wish:
On the bright side, went to the eye doctor and got good news. My Type 2 diabetes has not apparently affected the eyes and my vision has not been affected. |
Excellent news!
Thanks. Now if only we can get all our Pixies healthy and fit. Guess we'll just keep hoping/praying. :)
I'm here in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, starting day 3 (of 4) of Balticon. Been mostly a successful convention so far.
Glad to hear it ^^^^! Nice when so much effort goes into conventions like this to see them come off successfully. Hope it continues good and finishes a rousing success.

Memorial Day
A day set aside to remember all our nation's fallen … those that have given
their all to protect our country and the liberties we enjoy. The spirit of the day has maybe never been captured better than in this poem. "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae A dedicated physician and teacher, John McCrae was also a celebrated poet. He wrote In Flanders Fields, his most famous poem, after seeing the graves of fallen WWI soldiers covered in blooming poppies. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place, and in the sky, The larks, still bravely singing, fly, Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead; short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe! To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high! If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. |
Convention winding down, but there's still stuff to do. Packup and loadout after the programming features.
Dicksbro The national blacksmiths assoc. asked its members to make poppys ,they were gathered up sand sent to England for assy.into a memorial to be placed at Flanders. I haven't seen any pictures yet but hoping to.

jay-t that sounds great. I'd love to see what they do.

What they said.
I know the fantastic work you do first-hand from a 'feather' you provided and more of your work posted here over the years. I truly can't wait to see the poppys.
I went back to college and got my degree in 2018. Super proud of myself for that. It's never too late!
Congratulations. You should feel proud of that. It's a great accomplishment.

That's certainly a worthwhile accomplishment. BTW, (welcoming head bobs) from the lizard. |
Going to visit shut-ins from our church this morning at a senior residence facility. Should be about 15 seniors we'll get to visit there. Always an enjoyable thing to do.
