Do you have dial up, Teddy? :)

This has been an issue for me for awhile, although I fully comprehend the reasoning behind it and support both it and our moderators. I've learned the trick, though...if I'm not sure it's been long enough to pass the 30-second rule between posts, I simply use the mouse, highlight what I've written, Ctrl-C to copy it, then hit submit. If it *hasn't* been long enough, I can simply Ctrl-V and paste my post back in and hit submit again, without having to retype or re-create my words. :)

So you're saying on dail-up you have to wait 30 seconds between post and if submitting to early you lose what you wrote?

That would be frustrating!!

No, the 30-second rule is for everyone, Teddy...those on dial-up, though, or those who don't play the games often may not have seen the error message. :)

So share, IAKG. What is the reasoning behind the 30 second limit and why isn't it...say 20 seconds?:)

I used to do what IAK does...but have since learnt that if you hit the submit button and get the 30sec message.... you just hit the refresh button it will go through complete with what you wrote (if you get the 30 sec message again just hit refresh again)

Refresh or F5 for the truly lazy (like me!) :D

As slow as I type the 30 sec rule is not usually any problem at all

It used to bug me when I was posting pics, especially as I'd sometimes be in a hurry to get them all on, but since I've not posted pics in ages, and I have the freedom to view Pixies in a more leisurely way these days, it really isn't an issue for me anymore.

I do the refresh thing when it happens to me.

The 30 second limit is to stop/slow down/hinder spammers. Guess it must work cause I've found out other sites have the same thing. Will need to ask a Mod for details on how & why 30..... Thats all I know. :D

Thankfully I'm a slow typist, never had this problem. :)
